Noon prayer
- This is a commitment to prayer at noon for at least five minutes each day of the week.
- Noon prayer was a vital element of every major revival and awakening since 1727.
- Great Britain under the leadership of Winston Churchill called for noon prayer during World War II to stave off the German air assault on London and England.
- The Naval Academy has had noon prayer since 1864.
Daniel Prayer
- This is a commitment to prayer three times a day as modeled by Daniel in the book of Daniel.
- Daniel 6:10—Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
- We have established corporate times three times a day for the next 30 days in our church prayer room. Each member was encouraged to choose one of those times to come to the church and join in prayer for the nation.
Sacred Assembly
- At the end of the 30 days we are having an all church meeting to join together in repentance, prayer, worship, communion, and celebration of God and his answers to prayer.
- I would encourage every believer, pastor, and church to adopt a strategy of prayer at least through the election and even through the end of the year. These are not normal times. They could even be what the Bible calls “perilous timesâ€. And since the Lord has called His church a “House of Prayer†I believe that it is more than an option to step out in strategic and earth shaking prayer. God will not act unless we pray.
- Isaiah 64:4– …Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him.
